Oscar fish help again?

if you read my last question u wouldnt ask any dumb questions about water and space and stuff like that. so look at my other questions before u ask about tank size and water testing...

anyways my oscar is still at the bottom not doing much. but now he is breathing wierd, his mouth is opening and closing everytime he breathes and his gills are doing the same its kinda in a fast pace....he wasnt doing it before. its freaking me out!

whats wrong????

  1. it is very normal for the mouth and gills to work like that togather in fact fish basicly suck water in their mouths and pass it out over their gills

    since you say that the water conditions are all fine then he may just be stressed over something

    you last question said tank temp 78 I would raise it to between 80 and 85 ocsars prefer warmer water

    I am thinking you are stressing out as much as the fish is since you got him you have been watching him like he is under a microscope and it seams looking for the least little thing to be a problem.

    for him to relax you need to relax no sudden moves around his tank I think you should get some night crawlers and slowly start working on hand feeding him this should calm both of you down
