What & why happens if a leaf is put in each of the following solutions:

1. hypo 0% water

2. 0.9 % iso

3. 4 % hyper

1. the water will diffuse out of the leaf into the exterior environment to try and balance the solute > water concentrations.

2. Isotonic just means water will pass in and out of the leaf and the same rate. Nothing will happen.

3. If placed in a hypertonic solution water will diffuse into the leaf and cause the cells to become turgor.
