Ospreys forced to wait on James Hook decision
Ospreys has been forced to wait on James Hook's decision over whether the influential centre will sign a new contract at the club.
Hook has been linked with a number of moves to some of the biggest clubs in France but Ospreys has confirmed that a deal has been put in front of the player and a decision is due over the next two to three
weeks.
"It is just in his hands to decide whether he wants to stay or not. We need to know pretty quickly and let's hope that during or after the autumn internationals we get [a decision] from him. James has
intimated to us that he wants to play for Wales for a long time," said Ospreys coach Sean Holley.
It's vital for the future success of Ospreys that the club does everything possible to get him to sign on. His departure will leave a huge gap in the middle of the team following the impending move of
Gavin Henson to another club.
Future success
Hook is vital to the way Ospreys plays rugby. He pulls all of the strings in the middle of the team and makes the heart of the side tick. He rarely makes any basic errors, which allows him to move the
ball fluently and quickly.
Hook is one of the most creative players in the rugby club. He is responsible for a number of innovative forward attacking plays, which often lead to tries and penalties for the side.
The problem is that with the possible departure of Hook, along with Gavin Henson, there will be a big hole in the middle of the team. This will be difficult to fill as both of these players are responsible
for a lot of strength and power.
"I think negotiations are ongoing. I think it would be pretty obvious that in this current position that the Ospreys would have presented James with something," added Holley.
