The Argentina-born Italian national remarked that there was a time when the Premier League was host to the best football played around the world, but not anymore.
The AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 player has given his verdict on the English game, stating that the Italians have a better league, with every team being competitive and the playing field evenly balanced. Osvaldo’s remarks come after a host of players and agents have stated that
the Serie A is not the best league in the world, with many considering it to have relegated to being the fourth best league in the world.
Arsene Wenger stated that the Serie A did not provide the same kind of competitiveness that other leagues provided. However, Arsene Wenger was deterring http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380 from leaving the club to join Juventus. Mino Raiola, Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s and Mario
Balotelli’s agent has stated the same thing, by remarking that the League was in decline.
In defence of the Lega, Osvaldo stated that the Premier League used to play better football, but now the level of the league is not the same. He went on to state:
"Once the Premier League was the most beautiful in the world. But I think now the football has become second-rate. It's more fun to play in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 where every game is a fight, rather than a tournament where the first few teams get an
easy 30 points."
Despite his criticism of the English Premier League, Osvaldo went on to state that the player that the stance employed by the English FA on hooliganism is the way to go. The English FA went very hard on the hooligan culture that had
developed, and now it seems to have subsided.
However, that same phenomenon is a source of constant tension to the players, as the ultras in Italian football garner a lot of command; and their power was evident from the incidents at the Marassi last season. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Osvaldo-c28821 went on to state:
"We [Italian football] need to go hard on the ultra violent, like they have in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749. Football is the greatest sport in the world and it is absurd that a few people can ruin it."
Osvaldo would be hoping to have a higher goal return, especially now that he has Mattia Destro to contend with.
