Osvaldo overjoyed by Italian senior team debut and looking to keep hold of his place

Italian manager, Cesare Prandelli, received criticism from all corners for selecting the striker ahead of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alessandro-Matri-c4733. Former National team manager, Cesare Maldini questioned the manager’s decision to play foreign players ahead of the domestic stars.
However, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Osvaldo-c28821 is over the moon after making his debut for the senior team and wants to represent his country for a long period.
The 25-year-old insisted that he is eager to represent his country and is hoping that the manager will keep the faith in his abilities.
Osvaldo said, “I am very, very happy and was emotional on the field. I hope to notch up many more caps in my career."
The former Fiorentina star also thanked his players and coaching staff for showing him support and calming his nerves before going into the ground.
“The group is fantastic, full of excellent players and above all very likeable men who welcomed me into the squad. I want to thank them for that. I hope that I am in the running for Euro 2012, but for the moment I am simply happy at making my debut. It all happened so quickly and I hope to continue doing well with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 to convince Cesare Prandelli I deserve to be here.”
The striker is in rich goal-scoring form since the start of the season and has played a major role in his club’s success thus far.
The Italian international joined the Giallorossi before the ongoing season and has scored 3 goals in 5 appearances for Roma thus far. The star striker had a wonderful 2010/11 season with Spanish club, Espanyol, where he scored 13 goals in all competitions.
