Oswaldo Kuchle: Salvador Sanchez II will get a shot at Jhonny Gonzalez – Boxing News
Oswaldo Kuchle, promoter Jhonny Gonzalez and owner Promociones del Pueblo, recently confirmed that Salvador Sanchez II, the WBC Caribbean Boxing Federation (CABOFE) featherweight champion, offer has been accepted and he will get a bout with Jhonny Gonzalez
so that the scenario can be ended once and for all.
For the past few weeks Salvador has been continuously demanding a bout with Promociones del Pueblo’s flagship pugilist Jhonny but due to some unknown reasons the engagement was not being arranged.
All those demands have finally irked Oswaldo who in a recent announcement accepted the 26-year-old Salvador’s offer and commented that since he badly wants a bout with Jhonny he will get so.
Kuchle further remarked that the only thing left at the moment is a sitting with Salvador camp in which will be decided the date, venue and various other aspects of the bout.
Oswaldo stated, “We will give the opportunity to stop once and for all this situation of Sanchez asking the fight. If Sanchez II wants the fight we are giving it to him. Now we just need to sit down to negotiate the economics, the date and place and we can
do it.”
On hearing the news, Salvador, who is currently scheduled to defend his title against Juan Jose Beltran, excitedly commented that he has been waiting for this moment for a very long time adding that this news has motivated him substantially and now he will
enter the ring on Saturday night with a new energy altogether.
The young Salvador stated, “I have hoped that this moment would come. I’ve waited a long time and I will prepare like never before. It’s time to give everything this Saturday and I’ll rise into the ring even more motivated for this fight.”
Up till now, only verbal consent has been made by both camps and all the formalities, the purse and other financial matters, the contract etc are still needed to be penned down.
The date and venue will also be confirmed in the upcoming days. Salvador, also known as ‘Sal II’, is a Mexican surging pugilist who has been in a total 36 bouts and has emerged victorious in 29.
He has nailed 17 of his opponents by knockout and is on a 10-bout win streak since his last loss to Tomas Villa. This will be the fifth time that Sanchez will defend his title. Salvador grabbed the gold in a bout against Adan Garcia and since then has successfully
defended it against Jovanny Soto, Alexander Monterrosa, Mario Flores, and Marino Montiel.
