  1. If the sankes come from the same area, it may be ok, although I would recommend it for extended periods of time.  Mixing snakes of the same genus is ok, and sometimes there is a little variation with that rule at professional breeding levels who have been breeding for 10+ years, but generally you want to avoid this.  Especially with carpets.  Research your particular breed of carpet as I know some don't care who they live with and others will kill each other.  I believe the queenslands will kill eachother, though i'd have to look that up again.

The gender of the snake also matters if you were to mix snakes.  Another centralian, green tree python, or some other carpet will work.  They must be similar sized.  Under no circumstance should a boa and python be housed together.  Under rare circumstances, boas have killed and eaten pythons.

Generally, the snakes will not do as well unless housed by themselves or with snakes of the same species.  I had to temporarily house my burmese python with my blood pythons while I waited for a new heat source to be shipped.  The burmese python didn't eat like she normally voraciously did.  My suggestion is to get a new cage and then you can interact with them at the same time.  How big is tha cage and the current snake?
