Other songs converted to punk rock?

Question

anybody know any good abnds that take non-rock songs and turn them into rock/punk rock songs?

i know about me first and the gimme gimmes but im sure theres others out there

The Clash did that with a few songs. Try "Police and Thieves", "Brand New Cadillac" and of course "I Fought the Law." These songs all retain their influences (reggae, rockabilly and country-rock, respectively) but add a punk edge. They are not exclusively a cover band like Me First, but they're much better. It's a trade-off.
