Question:

Other than Denver, which RBBC wastes your roster spots?

"Jephatitis E" touched on an interesting scenario that I hadn't seen mentioned here before. Some team's RBBC forces managers to fill their roster with backups, handcuffs and 'maybes' -- spots that more often than not are wasted.

So, other than Denver, which RBBC will waste your roster space?

Jephatits E's comment that led to this question:

Selvin Young - if you know who he plays for, you know why. once you take a Denver RB, you're a part of the soap opera all year. i'll let someone else lose sleep and waste roster spots.

  1. Well, with all due respect, RBBC is in complete fashion in the NFL.  It's a fantasy reality, one we must all cope with.  Denver is one of MANY.

Each of the teams I'll list diminish the starting back's role.  True feature backs are few and far between, hence their value.

I don't disagree that Denver can be a huge fantasy risk, but it's the nature of the NFL.

Can you name but a few teams without RBBC?  Here's 17, in just a few minute's worth of work:

    Minnesota: Peterson, Taylor

    Jacksonville: Taylor, MJD

    Tampa: Graham, Dunn, possibly Williams

    Oakland: McFadden, Fargas, Bush, Jordan

    Detroit: Bell, Smith, Cason

    Pittsburgh: Parker, Mendenhall

Dallas: Barber, F. Jones (formerly J. Jones)

    Atlanta: Norwood, Turner

    New Orleans: Bush, McAllister

    NY Giants: Jacobs, Ward, Bradshaw

    Washington: Portis, Betts

    Miami: Brown*, Williams

    Houston: Green, Slaton, Brown

    Tennessee: White, Johnson, Henry

    Carolina: Williams, Stewart

    Bears: Peterson, Wolfe, Forte

    Seattle: Duckett, Jones, Morris

    *Injury related

THIS is exactly why LT, Westbrook, Addai, and Jackson are extremely valuable.  FEATURE backs matter, and are a dying breed.

Yes, Denver has Shanahan the Devil, but that's hardly rare.

And yes, as a Denver fan I am sensitive.  Somebody hold me.
