  1. By train, even if it is quite an adventure

First step is to buy an interrail or similar ticket from London to Istanbul, via Paris, Vienna, Budapest, Belgrade (or Budapest, Bucharest, Istanbul). It will take 3 to 4 days and at least 250 pounds.

Second step: Take a ferry to cross the bosphorus, go to the Haydarpasa station and take the Trans Asia express to Tehran (3 days, one train per week, cost around 40 pounds)

Third step: Tehran  to Kerman by overnight train, departure every day at 4.45 p.m.

Fourth step: Kerman to Bam (train departs at 8.30 a.m from Kerman arrives 11.30 at Bam

Fifth step: Bam Zahedan, by night bus (railway under construction - risky area)

Sixth step Zahedan, to Quetta: train every 3rd and 17th day of the month overnight

Seventh step: Quetta to Lahore, with train (quetta express)

    24 hours travel

You are in Pakistan, all in all at least 15 days after your departure from London

Note to Garrison: London  is linked to Paris by train, through a tunnel under the channel from Folkestone, Kent, to Coquelles. The tunnel was opened 14 years ago in 1994: better to update your travel info

  2. England is an ISLAND NATION... the ONLY ways to reach it are Airplane, by Boat or by Swimming... unless you can walk on water, but that comes under "by boat".
