We put all food scraps in sealed containers, so they're not coming for that, so how can we get rid of the gnats flying around our house and aggravating us? Can't spray because of husband's allergies to spray, etc. What else can we do to get rid of the gnats? I've even tried lids full of vinegar, and still here......HELP! Thanks and God bless you. ♥

  1. A surefire method that I use is dishwashing liquid like dawn and water mixed strong in a spritzer like a windex bottle. Put it on mist and voila! soapy water kills just about any insect and it doesn, t harm people or animals. I use it when I give the dog a bath and it kills fleas faster than raid. It has a 100% effective kill rating on everything from spiders to wasps . Even cockroaches die after a good blasting on jet stream.

  2. Gardener's Supply sells fruit fly traps that might help you. Take a look at the link below.

  3. If you have old bananas lying on the kitchen counter, they'll be drawn to that (most people don't think of that). Or, if you have last night's leftover dinner in the trash, they'll be drawn to that, too. They can also be drawn to things like floor drains (or any stinky drains for that matter), so check around to see if you have little tiny black wormy things (gnat larvae) crawling out of any sink drains or floor drains. Even if you don't see any, smell them closely to see if they have an odor. Even the slightest odor will attract them. I just had this problem not too long ago, the larvae were crawling out of my basement floor drain. I used industrial strength drain cleaner (you can find it at Lowe's-make sure it says "industrial strength" on the label), poured it down the drain and let it sit for 4 or 5 hours, and it did have somewhat strong odor, but if you open a few windows, it's really not bad. Or, just do it one day when your husband is going to be gone all day and let it sit for a few hours, then flush out with warm water. Maybe a fly catching strip will catch the ones that are already flying around? Good luck!
