  1. We got our gorgeous yellow lab from Pacfic Assistance Dogs (PADS).  They train dogs to assist the blind, deaf, disabled.  They have puppies raised specifically for this but sometimes the pups don't pan out - bad habits that won't break, or physical defects.  Ours had a food allergy (but thaty thought it was environmental) so they failed her out.  We got a beautiful dog who was already carefully obedience-trained, an angel with the family.  I couldn't recommend them more.

  2. Look up Classified Ads  "pets/livestock" in local newspapers or Buy & Sell Paper.

  3. Petcetera stores have adult dogs for adoption, they charge a higher fee than the SPCA most of the time though. Have you checked with other SPCA branches, like Richmond, Surrey, Coquitlam, etc? They might have the dog you want.

  4. vancouver pound  .Allso buy & sell   Boslys  have notice boards

  5. you can try Little Paws Rescue in Coquitlam, if you want a smaller dog or petfinder.com.

stay away from the pet stores. they're just supporting puppy mills
