Ottawa Senators haunt the New Jersey Devils once again winning 3-1

Ottawa Senators hosted another one of Thursday’s game at the Scotiabank Place as it was up against the New Jersey Devils.
Devils was six points behind the final play-off position and needed the win if they wanted to see themselves in the play-offs this time.
On the other hand, Senators had to play a spoiler role as they are out of play-off contention.
The game started off with both teams making a decent start which saw them making quite a few shots on goal. However, none of the numerous shots fired by the players found the back of the net but Senators managed to score right at the death to get into the
lead.
The second period saw Devils totally dominating the game as they fired several shots on goal and their defence was also superb that restricted the opposition to almost nothing during the period.
The final period saw Senators scoring once to double their lead. Devils scored but Senators scored once again to win the game 3-1 in the end. Curtis McElhinney, goal keeper of Senators was the star of the game as he made 33 saves during the game.  
Though the start to the game was slow but it can be said it was smooth if we look at it from the prospect that there were 60 minutes to play. Things got better defensively and offensively for both teams with the passage of time.
Their passing and play-making was absolutely brilliant to watch as Devils tried to score and move in the cut.
However, it was Senators who scored in the final minute to get into the lead. The goal was scored by Ryan Shannon from a powerful strike during power play.
The period ended with the scores Senators leading 1-0 as they made 9 shots on goal while Devils made 10 shots on goal.
The second period saw Devils totally dominated the proceedings from the start to the end. Their passing shooting and everything they did looked flawless. During the course of the period, Devils made 11 shots on goal.
On the other hand, Devils defence also every strong as they cut down any attacks which saw Senators making only 3 shots on goal during the course of the period.
The final period kicked off with Senators on the attack right from the word go. The home team with the strength in their attacks managed to score in the very first minute to double their advantage. The goal was scored by Chris Neil. Though Devils scored
through Brian Rolston in the 6th minute but it were Senators who won the game with Neil scoring once again in the final minute.
In the end, it was Senators who won the game 3-1. During the final period, both teams made 13 goal attempts each.
