Ottawa Senators host the Boston Bruins
Ottawa Senators will be hosting another game of Friday which would see them up against the Boston Bruins.
This will be the fourth of the six scheduled meetings to take place between the two sides.
Out of the three meetings that have already taken place Bruins won the first and third meetings, 4-0 and 6-0, comfortably.
Senators won the second meetings between the two sides easily 2-0. Bruins have piled up some decent results recently. Bruins went to the New York Islanders where they emerged as 6-3 winners of the game. The Bruins have started a six games road trip and this
will be the second of the games. They won the first game and will be looking to notch up the second this time out.
Senators on the other hand have lost and won a game in the last two games. They won the game against the Edmonton Oilers and lost the game against the New York Islanders.
The Senators are going through some tough times in the season as they won just one game in their last 20 games.
The Bruins won their last game against the Islanders before which they lost the game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
"I really liked our first period. I thought we were right on top of our game," Coach Claude Julien said. "I think offensively we did some really good things. But defensively, again, I think we had some lapses and those are the things we are trying to correct
here.
"This is a step in the right direction and hopefully we can keep working on that and get better."
Bruins have played 57 games in the season out of which they have 18 games in regulation time, nine games in overtime and they have scored 45 games.
On the other hand, Senators have played 58 games out of which they have won 32 games in regulation time, seven games in overtime and they have scored 71 points and are among the top teams in the Eastern Conference.
Senators are one team that has disappointed a lot during the course of the season and are in the final position in the Eastern Conference. After the disappointing loss to the Islanders on Tuesday saw them making two trade deals which saw Jarkko Ruutu to
Anaheim Ducks and centre playing Chris Kelly to Bruins.
"It's difficult," Murray said on a conference call after the Ruutu deal. "Every time you trade a veteran guys you had expectations (from), it's somewhat hard to do. I'm sure it's a little draining on the rest of the players. In turn, because of the way we've
played and because of the standings (the Senators are 15th in the Eastern Conference), some things are the right things to do.
The game is expected to be tight and tough with both teams trying hard to notch up points. Bruins definitely have the better chance of winning the game keeping their recent form and position in the league in mind.
