Ottawa Senators plays host to the Boston Bruinsin the fifth of their six meetings of the season - NHL Previews
The league strugglers in the Ottawa Senators will be playing host to one of the strong teams in the league this season in Boston Bruins.
This will be the fifth out of the six scheduled meetings between the two sides.
All of the last four games during the season have been won by the Bruins. Not only this, but the Bruins have emerged winners of the last nine games between the two sides.
The Bruins have completely outscored the Senators 14-2 during these four meetings.
Bruins are currently on a road trip and it has gone perfect for them to say the least.
Out of the five games they have played so far, five have seen them coming up with regulation time wins.
They now square off against the Senators who are struggling and it looks hard that they would stop the Bruins from moving up the table as they surge to the top end of the table.
The Senators have also come up with some decent results which have seen them winning three out of their last four games.
During these wins they managed to come up with two straight wins on home ice, which is something they haven’t been able to do regularly during the course of the season.
The Senators like the Panthers are looking to build a new team which saw them giving away quite a few players during the course of the trade window.
They traded away some important players during this time and sources say that they are looking for new blood who would lead them to Stanley Cup glory in the coming few seasons.
The Senators are struggling at the bottom of the Western Conference and need to come up with some good results if they want to move up the table and finish in a respectable position given their past history.
"There's mixed emotions as you become attached to your teammates, but it became a fit to move me (to Chicago) since Ottawa already has a good core of young defensemen," Campoli said.
Both the teams have played 62 games during the course of the season so far out of which the Senators have won 21 games in regulation time and nine games in overtime to score a total of 51 points.
Bruins, on the other hand, have won 36 games in regulation time and seven games in overtime to score 79 points.
The Bruins have come up with some big players ending up in their roster like Chris Kelly and Rich Peverley.
During Bruins' last win against Oilers, Kelly came up with an assist with Peverley scoring from it. The game ended with the Bruins winning the game 3-2 in the end.
"This trip has been a great opportunity for us to introduce our new players to the hockey club by being on the road," coach Claude Julien said. "The timing was good. We've got a better record on the road than we do at home."
