Disappointed after his team’s poor performance in the final session of day one of the second Test against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ottis-Delroy-Gibson-c80358, has praised the stunning stroke-play of Abul Hasan, who scored a magnificent
hundred on debut.
Having won the toss, Bangladesh opted to bat first on a flat batting track. However, the home team’s middle-order was rattled by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Fidel-Henderson-Edwards-c57010, who was making a comeback in Test cricket.
At one stage, Bangladesh had lost eight wickets, with just 193 runs on the board. Abul Hasan, who was playing his first Test for the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bengal-c771 Tigers and is a specialist fast bowler, played out of his skin and smashed the visitors to all
parts of the ground, scoring 113 runs off just 123 balls with the help of 14 boundaries and three sixes. He was ably supported by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mahmudullah-c1877, who scored an important 76.
The two players accumulated 184 runs for the ninth-wicket partnership, which brought the home team back into the match.
Gibson admits that his team should have done better in the third session of the first day but said that the duo batted beautifully. The coach wants his side to turn the tables in the remainder of the match and complete a whitewash in
the series.
“The guys should be a little disappointed with what has happened. We should have made more inroads. 190 for 8 represents a good day, and then the last session you have to give them credit,” he said. “Young [Abul] Hasan obviously batted

Edwards, who grabbed six wickets in Bangladesh’s first-innings after giving away 90 runs in 18.1 overs, said that the pitch at Khulna is unforgiving for the bowlers and they will have to be at the top of their game to make an impression.
“The wicket is really flat where the batsmen can get off to a flyer, so you have to bowl in good areas,” Edwards expressed.
