West Indian coach Ottis Gibson has outlined an aggressive approach against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 in the upcoming fourth ODI at Warner Park, St Kiits, claiming that his side will go all out to clinch the five-match series.
The home side remain confident of making a strong comeback despite suffering a surprising 88-run defeat at the hands of their opponents in the third ODI.
West Indies had been comprehensively beaten by the English side last month however; a change in form saw them outplay the Black Caps in the T20 arena before carrying that momentum in the opening two games of the ODI series. With a first series’ ODI win on
the cards against a top Test level nation in four years, the Windies coach does not want his men to show any complacency in the remaining matches.
“We had a good chat so everybody understands the importance of winning tomorrow and wrapping up the series, so everybody’s raring to go. It was a disappointing performance on the back of the solid work we had done before, the solid work we did coming out
of a tough series in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013,” Gibson said.
Windies have relied heavily on their swashbuckling left-hand opener, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/CH-Gayle-c1221, who has been in superb touch since his return to the international cricket, and has further dictated terms with the bat so far, scoring match-winning knocks of 63 and 125 in
the two opening matches won by the hosts.
However, Gayle managed only 11 in the third match which set-forth a spectacular collapse as the hosts were bundled out for only 161, raising doubts about their capacity as a unit. Gibson however, has come out and defended his side as not a “one-man team”.
“It's not doom and gloom. We lost a game … we look back at where we went wrong and then we aim to correct those mistakes in the next game. No one-man team has ever won many things in any sport so we need all hands on deck,” the coach pointed out.
