The former Grasshopper Club manager added that he has immense respect for Rangnick’s decision as he has had the courage to openly come out and tell the world that he cannot continue any longer. He stated that the decision was in
the best interests of both the parties involved and wished the former Schalke manager a speedy recovery.
“I have the greatest respect for Ralf Rangnick that he had the courage to say that he no longer had the strength to motivate the team and that he wanted to step back. It takes a lot of courage to be able to admit that to yourself
and then go public with it,” he concluded.
Ottmar Hitzfeld is widely regarded as the Best Bundesliga manager of all time. He has won seven Bundesliga titles, two UEFA Champions League titles and three German Cups with Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich.
