Ouch! i got bitten/stung by something....?

Question

Well i went for walk with my dog, and went into some bushes and there were thorns near by. So i feel something hurt on my leg and thought it was a thorn, but when i look down, its this huge black flying thing. I have no idea what it was but it hurt like h**l.

I checked and there is no stinger in there but a bite. It's not itchy, and a little bump has formed around it and its red.

It occasionally and randomly hurts and i have no idea what to do.

So anyone have an idea to what bit me? And what can i do to relieve the pain?

ummm how big was this HUGE black flying thing? could be  a deer fly.... where do you live?i need more info

It does sound like a deer fly, or maybe a horse fly.  It it really itches a lot, use an itch cream that you can get OTC.
