  1. ouijja boards open up doors to the unknown.....they are pure evil and usually cause a lot of problems.

  2. My sister used to do the Ouija board alone with one finger on the rim of a glass, you could barely see the contact on the edge, it flew around so fast spelling messages you had to wonder how, but you could see she was not pushing it. It would cut over at angles and her hand could not keep up, it would fly off to the side.

It started out friendly and turned horribly ugly over a period of about a year. It freaked her out so badly it took her years to get over the bad experience. The things it told her were poison to her mind, and like grabbing a high voltage line, she could not let go. Its not a game, and its not a joke. The number of responses matching this one are a testimony to that fact.

There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are drempt of in your philosophy!

  3. Here you go. Everything you need to know about them.

  4. Well if you believe in the idea that a person can be a medium or channel to the spirit world then you could say they allow you to channel someones answers to the board subconsciously of its even possible you are just talking to your own subconscious, which is the case for many people who 'see' ghost or spirits. It's just an aspect of your psyche manifesting in an non-threatening way (ie taking over your conscious body as with bad multiple personality cases). As for the blindfold thing, of course it wouldn't work. Just because someone is dead doesn't mean they are psychic.

Milton bradly just made the use of the O board widespread, before it used to been known as a witch board I beleive.

I'm fairly open minded and seen some pretty weird s*** over the years so who knows?

  5. Usually it is pretty simple: You put your hand on the slider-thingy and it seems to move on its own.

I don't know if it is real or if it is subconscious, but both are possible. In my experience, though, both are true because the Ouija boards work by letting entities contact you through your subconscious.

That's the danger, though. If you get something friendly, it is no problem and they spell something for you and leave. But if it isn't friendly, it can try to take control of you via the subconscious. Just think about subliminal advertising. You can take an image and flash it on a screen faster than you can consciously notice it, but your subconscious will be aware of it anyway. If a movie had a subliminal image of a coke bottle, you would suddenly find yourself wanting some soda and off you would go to buy some... never even knowing why. That is how powerful your subconscious is.

So it makes sense that an entity that is communicating through your subconscious would have a convenient back-door to use for its own purposes. Usually it wants to use your body to experience three-dimensional  reality. Regardless of its intent, you are inviting disaster unless you are careful.

But knowledge is power, and you can guard yourself against bad entities without making it impossible to use the Ouija board. It takes practice, but you can protect yourself by simply refusing to allow any being total access to your subconscious. Only give them enough to communicate and then demand that they leave. Easy.

    Good luck with that.

  6. They don't. They will move but that is a mathamatical problem not paranormal.

  7. stay away from a Ouija Board....it opens ways to places/things .... just don't even play it for fun!

  8. Let me just consult the board...

    I..T..S..A..C..R..O..C..K..O..F......

  9. Naturalistic explanation:

The group subconsciously moves the pointer, without trying to.  The subconscious knows a lot more than the conscious mind lets on, and here we have a way to gain access to some of this information

    Cynical explanation:

They don't.  On the rare occasions they do, it's like the horoscope: no better than random chance.

    Spiritual/occult explanation

Spirits move the pointer in order to communicate with us. (However, we can never be sure whether they want to help us, harm us, or couldn't care less about us.)

Me?  I don't know.  As for the cynical explanation, a Ouija board has to work better than chance (that is, we don't get a random string of letters and/or numbers) or no one would play.

  10. they don't

  11. Ouijja, weagie, just as long as it's not a wedgie!

How do they work? They don't. As others have mentioned, it's just the ideomotor effect. But it's funny how many refugees from the Dark Ages we have here who think "spirits" and "demons" are responsible. LOL!!

  12. Ouija.. is a combination of 2 words. Oui-french for yes and ja-german for no.. yes and no are located on the corners of the board. Letters in the middle and numbers at the bottom as well as goodbye..I think thats all.. cant remember for sure. But you get 2 or more people who place their finger tips on the heart shaped pointer and ask questions and wait for an answer. Sometimes they give answers that dont make any sense. I have been told that some spirits who answer cant read or write (a common problem back in the day) and you should re-ask the question in a form that can be answered with yes or no. One half  feel this is just a board game governed by subconscious thoughts of the players. The other half feel this board can bring messages from the other side.I say it depends on your own experiences and what you choose to beleive. Having had some rather wierd experiences with the witch board (several years ago and havent used one in even more years than I care to add up) I suggest they be left alone unless you want to deal with what could be very scary.. I know for the most part you cant trust the answers and that the spirits that answer are not always who they claim to be..Some say its opening a door to invite anything that wants to, to enter your life..

  13. "Weagie" is a misspelling. "Ouija" is pronounced "wee-jee."

The mechanism behind a Ouija board (which are made by Parker Bros., I believe) is one of deception.

One person asks the question, and all players touch the pointer. The asker seems to be getting an answer from "the other side," but in reality the pointer is being guided by the other players.

If you were to use a Ouija board by yourself, with your eyes closed (no peeking), and videotaped the process, you would undoubtedly get gibberish.

Now, there will inevitably be people who answer your question with such tripe as "ghosts move it," or "it's possessed by demons/the Devil." Ignore them, because they are superstitious folk who don't understand that it's based entirely on the power of suggestion & plain old pranking.

(The "demon" theorists will be the same ones that claim stage magic is witchcraft. Just watch.)

  14. Look up the 'ideomotor effect'.  You're moving it subconsciously.  You can easily show this by blindfolding yourself, rotating to board to some angle, and trying again and having someone read off the results.  Suddenly they don't spell anything anymore.

  15. No genius, there is no "aka weagie board". It's "Oui", and  "Ja". The French and German for "Yes". And, no they do not work, except to get your little naive mind into trouble. Wise up and get to church.

  16. Don't go there unless you want to open yourself up to things you may not be able to control.

  17. as trays to hold your tv dinner, yes...

  18. I'm with Yasd on this one - leave it alone unless you have experience working with that which has crossed over.  What you don't see could hurt you a whole lot!

  19. careful your venturing into dangerous territory read up as much as you can first.

They work by contacting the dead and not all of them are nice

  20. Ouijja board is simply a piece of compressed wood & is widely available. Ouija is a combination of 2 words, "oui" & "ja" which means "yes" in french.

It is not dangerous. Numbers & letters are usually the words "yes" & "no" are arranged in a circle in the board. At the centre there is a "planchatte". An upturned glass can be used instead. Each sitter rests a finger on the planchette & when the spirit is asked a question, it responds by moving the planchette around the board. Because of their contact with the planchette, the sitters can easily influence the outcome by moving the planchette themselves.

  21. You hold a little dial thingy (bad description, but it is just a little pointer) and point it at whatever you want it to say. They mean nothing whatsoever...

  22. You invite entities - good, bad and ugly - from the other world and offer your body for channelling their energy and intentions through you. This is dangerous.

  23. you and your buddies put your hand on the marker and move it around and the letters you move it over spell out the "answer" to your question

supposedly it is a way to contact spirits and get answers, but it is c**p.  i mean 2iouhigoaub 3 is not your true love's name, is it?

you'd be a lot better off trying to divine thru Y!A if you want to completely waste your time
