Our 1 HP DE pool filter is only a couple years old and it already sounds really LOUD

It is nearly new and it sounds SO LOUD, the motor that is. What is wrong with it? And can we fix it ourselves? It must drive the neighbors crazy. It works fine, good pressure but just too LOUD! It used to be so quiet. . .sigh.

where the contacts  are inside the pump motor are going out. but to be honest i have seen brand new pump motors come apart in my hands.but it could last another six months or it can stop completely the next day so call a pool company and have them put a new motor on it.pool company onwer eleven years experince
