She had her annual booster today and an overal check up and the vet said shes got a heart murmour but not to worry and to keep doing as we are with her but we cant help but worry.

Has anybody got any experience with heart murmours with dogs and what can we expect when it starts getting worse?

  1. Ask the vet if co-q10 and omega3 will help keep his heart strong.

  2. Heart murmurs diagnosed by a vet are usually given a grade of 1 through 6, a grade of 1 being mild, and 6 being severe.   If your vet told you not to worry, chances are the grade was low.  Your vet can tell you if anything specific can help, as far as the cause for the murmur.  If he's given no advice on changes to make, just be certain your dog gets annual checkups to make sure the murmur has not changed over time.  If that happens your vet may do other tests.  Good luck, and really don't worry.
