  1. Scotland and Ireland if you can afford overseas. Its a beautiful place, the older kids can legally drink (but will be with you guys so its a good introduction to the world of alcohal before they go off to college). Almost magical country side, and lots of interesting castles and culture to explore. Thats where my family went after I graduated high-school and it was great. I recommend Eidenburough, Dublin, Kinsail, and the Erie Isles.

For a domestic trip I would say go to Boulder Colorado for skiing, and lots to do around town. Maybe rent a cabin or something or just camping.

  2. Disney... No matter how old you are it works

  3. Go to http://www.thingbot.com/ do a search on "family vacation destinations" it will give some great reviews and deals.

    Hope this helps!

  4. If you are active as a family and like the outdoors, a summer ranch vacation can be fun for everyone in your family.

Hiking, white water rafting, canoeing, fishing and riding are a few of the activities offered.

Also, many have  children's programs for your nine-year old.

there is quite a selection to choose from in terms of size, quality and expense.

I've used ranch web for general information; they cover international and US dude ranches.

  5. Club Med Cancun!!!! there is a club for teens and kids!!! I was there and my family loved it!!!! Check out http://www.clubmed.us/cgi-bin/clubmed55/... and http://cancun-hotels.tripadvisor.com/Hot...

  6. I don't know where you live or what kind of budget you have, but my two favorites are Yosemite in California and cruising anywhere. All cruise ships have wonderful things for kids of all ages to do. My favorite cruise line is Princess.

  7. Disney World in Orlando. There are activities and entertainment available for the whole family. Check out the website!

We went with daughter, son-in-law, grandchildren who were 22, 18, 16 and 16. We had a ball!

Stay on site at one of the resorts and take advantage of the extra perks of staying late or going early and having bus transportation, so there's no parking.

They work to keep the parties together and there are things for all ages.
