Our Conor to prove tough to beat in Bar One Racing Juvenile 3-Y-O Hurdle at Fairyhouse
Considering his fresh stats, one can easily expect Our Conor to give his best shot in Grade 3, Bar One Racing Juvenile 3-Y-O Hurdle at Fairyhouse on Sunday, December 2nd. D. T. Hughes’ trainee will surely prove really tough to beat if replicating
what he did last time.
After running three good races in defeat, the 3-year-old finally returned to the winning ways. In the hands of Bryan Cooper, he hardly faced much difficultly in cruising to an easy 8½-length triumph in the Follow Navan Racecourse Facebook 3-Y-O Maiden Hurdle
last month.
The 8-13 favourite chased the leaders brilliantly, and went second after halfway. He travelled well to lead well before the last couple of hurdles. Things started getting tricky, when Casual Creeper challenged him in the final stages, but the dashing horse
pumped up his speed to get a clear-cut lead approaching the final hurdle.
He extended his advantage thereafter, and eventually secured the first rank with ease. It was Our Conor’s third victory overall. In today’s graded event, the Gerrardstown House Stud-bred is facing only four opponents. Owned by Man About Town Syndicate, the
son of Jeremy is clearly superior to his stable-mate, Everything Zain, who has competed with majority of this line-up.
After taking a comfortable victory at Navan, the 3-year-old is fully pumped, and can rise to the occasion. Stocktons Wing is likely to give him plenty to do. The Charles O'Brien-trained is also coming off a comprehensive victory.
At the start of last month, the 3-year-old secured the fourth win of his career. Beating Everything Zain by two and a quarter lengths, the Mark Walsh-ridden won the Eventsec 3-Y-O Hurdle at Down Royal. Besides this pair, no one is likely to trouble the judge.
If we look at Brog Deas’ CV, it is quite evident that the 2-mile distance will suit him. But there are a few other factors to worry about. South South West is shaping up well, and could show a bold effort. Dayrina, on the other hand, is unlikely to meet
the standards at this level. The €17,875-for-winner event will be kicked off at 12:35 GMT.
