Our Dell Inspiron Screen 6400

Our Dell Inspiron Screen 6400 has just started flipping over onto one side, so we pressed ctrl/alt/ and the down-arrow. But now the writing on the screen is slightly fuzzy or out of focus. Is it related? Is there anything to stop this?Thanks.
