Our Hamster Reeses died today.

Question

We saw her sick but we did not know exactly how bad Reeses was. I called the vet and was told I had to pay more than I could afford to pay. It was sad to know that she would die. Now as I write this, it hurts to say that Reeses is dead. We miss her so much.

I'm very sorry.. it always hurts to lose a pet, they are part of the family. Maybe; if your heart is ever up to it you can get another one :)

Oh, I know how you feel. My sweet heart Sakura died a week ago. I was crying for days. I still miss her, but I try hard not to think about it. It isn't easy to get over a loved ones death, and that includes the little furry friends in our family. I was on vacation when she died. I never got to see her. My mom thinks it was of Kidney failure. It hurts to think that she suffered, and it breaks my heart to hear stories of others that are suffering the same pain. God bless you and may Reeses' little spirit run free in a field of happiness.

I'm really sorry to hear that. I remember how hard it was when my hamster died, but, because it was a very fragile animal, it was especially hard knowing that it would die within a year. But, what I did to help with the pain was to think about the positives. I had plenty of good times with my hamster and I think she had a very happy life, and I knew that she was up in Heaven enjoying herself. Good luck dealing with your loss and remember that she is in a better place now :).

I am sorry to hear about Reeses passing.  When my hamster Ringo died I cried for a long time afterwards. It's never easy losing a pet.  Find comfort in knowing that now she is no longer sick..she's free and happy again.

have a big funeral in your backyard

dig a hole and put her in a box and say lots of words and stuff

dont buy another one for at least 3 and a 1/2 months so your not too emotional

That's a very sad story and in a sense I can relate. I recently had the same experience with a dog. And I know its hard to get over, me knowing because I'm not even yet over it, but hopefully the wound gradually heals. Sorry to hear the news.
