Our Installation manager is married to our Installation supervisor we have no Human Rescource dept. and She does not like taking supervisor calls or etc. He does not enforce her job and she talks about everyone and how do we go about talking to anyone about complaints if we go to him she will know and everyone quits because of the intimidation, they are pretty close to the ceo. What do we do?

  1. what do you do?

the way i see it you have some options:

    1. grin and bear it, but that sucks as you'll never really going to enjoy work and it'll wear thin and you'll become disgruntled.  try to be as professional as possible and go about your own business making all interactions with them positive and constructive.

    2. get in with the 'in crowd', which might work if you do manage to get in, but from the sounds of things it would go against your ethics.  or you might not get in and would be/feel even more ostracised.

    3. leave the area.  see if you can join the other team, but you'll still be annoyed by the goings on and if as you say they are good friends with the ceo then you might not escape them anyway.

    4. leave the firm.  this way you'd be free of them altogether and be able to get a new start.  this may not feel good to do or even be that easy (depending on your situation, skills and job market), but to me it is viable.

i don't like favouritism and when this sort of thing is occurring in your office it will affect you more than you know.  i had a similar experience once and tried for quite some time to ignore it all.  i was lucky enough to move departments, but the couple had influences far and wide and to see how they manipulated so many people was annoying.  i managed to get far enough away from them, but really that shouldn't have had to happen, but it's reality.

i wish you all the best in this.

  2. sounds like you need to find another job, its hard working with people that are married. Maybe you should try talking to the CEO if you can, send him/her an email.

You need to stand up to your installation supervisor, she can't treat you the way she is and if it continues you can get help.
