2 nights ago one of the about 5, 6 week old kitten was in my little cousins room with the other kittens and the door was shut. My cousin opens the door and said she saw the kitten freaking out and going crazy like she was having a seizure . When the kitten stopped she couldn't walk on her hind legs anymore. We arent sure if she got caught under the door or had a seizure. She acts like she use too and eats well and scoots around and plays but she can't walk. I don't think she is in pain but I'm not sure. I touch her back leg pads and she reacts by bringin her claws out so she has feeling. She also can't move her tail.

Does anyone know if this is serious or could just be a pinched nerve and she will grow out of it?

Vets are expensive so I would like to see if this happend to anyone else!

Thanks!

  1. Not being able to use their back legs, is one sign, they have thrown a clot, it is one of the things you want to watch for, if your cat has HCM.  Maine Coons and Ragdolls are prone to HCM.  This is, you want to rush the cat to the vet.

Not saying this is what happened to your cat, but it is one of the signs.

And if the kitten is swatting at you, when you touch her back legs, she is in pain, she is telling you this.

In any case, this kitten needs to be seen by a vet, yes vets are very expensive, but the kitten cannot take herself to the vets,  and you need to be a responsible owner.

Think of it this way, if you had a pinched nerve, which is painful, or you were in pain, how would you feel, if someone told you, it was too expensive to take you to the doctors. Best of luck, whatever you decide to do. :-)

  2. o poor baby!!!! she mite b paralyzed idk  wow i would carry the poor thing

    evrywer she wanted! poor thing!

  3. It could be a spinal cord injury or a number of things. Why don't you call your vet first.

  4. I think the best thing to do would be to take it to a vet. They may be expensive but something very serious could have also happened to the kitten.

  5. aww poor thing one of my cats was paralized cdaue my dog bit its spine and it was fine but it fell in a wholes and got stuck 4 days..

  6. aww. poor kitten! my dog once tried to jump into our car and missed, and she hurt her back. she couldn't walk at all, so we brought her to the vet ((sorry!)) and the vet ((she's local and lives up the street)) cut the price in half. she gave her pain killers, and then we had these 'treats' we had to give her that helped with her back.  she's perfectly fine now, but she was just like your kitten, she couldn't move her tail or her back legs. and if it was a seizure, then you should really take her to the vet, i know you said you didn't want to bring her to the vet, but thats the best chance. good luck. i really hope your kitten is okay.
