Whether Georgia "started" things is still unclear.  There are reasonable claims that Russia has been undermining Georgia for some time now.

The ruler of Georgia did a very dumb thing to try and seize that province.  He was relying on us to help.  When you are sitting next to a bear, do not try to poke him in the eye with a stick.

Your facts are wrong.  Russia 'said' Georgia was committing genocide.  There is no proof of that.  And with Russia's current actions, charging into the whole of Georgia when saying they're only trying to protect "Russians" in S. Ossetia, and agreeing to a cease fire and then breaking it, why would anyone believe Russia?

Russia is putting out propaganda that is as outrageous and unbelievable as Baghdad Bob.  Check what they've been saying lately.  It's more likely Russia used Georgia fighting rebels in S. Ossetia that were committing violence against Georgia as a false flag to attack Georgia.  If there's an investigation, we might just find Russian-made weapon parts in those S. Ossetia neighborhoods.

Georgia did not do ANYTHING!!!!  Russia blind-sided them.  We need to help Georgia.  Russia is trying to take back the old states of the USSR.
