Our body temperature is about 36,6 C. Why then do we feel so hot at ambient temperatures of,say,30C ?

  1. our body is used to cooler tempertures than 30 C. at the equator, people would think that 30 C is getting chilly. in canada though, it'd be roasting. it depends on what you're used to.


  2. i still feel comfy at 30. (but barely... that's near the top of the scale)

    it's because your body generates internal heat. that heat has to go somewhere and it has a hard time as the temp gets warm

  3. Because that's our internal body temperature, and we rely on living in an environment that's cooler so that our body can properly release heat energy. One of the laws of thermodynamics states heat only transfers from a place of high heat to lower heat. If the environment is as hot/hotter than our internal body temp., the body's heat has nowhere to go and we can easily overheat this way.
