her sack has been out for about 2 hours. we are worried and don't know if its normal. other sites say that when there are other animals she might delay the birth. we have a dog and 7 kids here. do you think all of the commotion is affecting her?

  1. Give the cat some privacy. If it's really noisy the cat might be frightened.

  2. they can delay birth but if the sack is sticking out then that is not what is going on- you need to take her to an emergency vet NOW ASAP. she has a kitten stuck in the birth canal, if it is not dead already then it will be soon and so will all of the other kittens behind it and then your cat will die a horrible death. VET NOW do not wait!!

get her spayed if she lives through this.

  3. Probably you should put her in a quiet room with the door lock and put her in the box and let her have the kittens without anybody there

    Cat Birthing Supplies

    Lots of clean hand towels

A pair of hemostats (or 2)

    A pair of dull scissors

    Unwaxed dental floss or thread

    Alcohol or iodine

Along with these basic things, you will also need your phone and the number of your vet and an emergency vet in case your cat delivers in the middle of the night and has trouble. It’s also good to have kitchen scales, a pen and paper, and permanent markers if you want to record births and keep an eye on each kitten’s progress. Keeping weight records is a good way of knowing whether or not each kitten is thriving.

  4. what ever u do don't pull the kittens. leave her in a room by her self

  5. Dances with Cats is RIGHT.....your cat is having TROUBLE.  Get her some vet help ASAP, or she could die!

    Good luck..................go NOW.......

  6. i have an idea

    get your cat SPAYED

  7. she is probably nervous so i would suggest a quiet room by herself but with u nearby like maybe shes in a quiet room and the door is kinda open so u can check on her and maybe sneek in there to watch if she feels comfterable.haha hope this helps! GOODLUCK! :)

  8. YOU SHOULD BE AT THE VETS WITH YOUR CAT NOT POSTING

  9. Every time I've seen it like that, the kittens are born stillborn (sadly, even pretty well developed kittens).

But this maybe that slim chance momma is just plain scared.

Put her in the bathroom on a soft surface -- the bathtub can work (if you have another bathroom to use). If you have a crate, put a towel (or better, a baby blanket) in it and coax momma in it,  and put the crate in a isolate area with the door off or open. Momma cat needs privacy, aa she's all stressed by having the kitties and fear of them being killed.

Also, if the kittens are born don't touch the kittens without using a cloth until they're at least a month old. Momma won't like human scent on them, and it's how she'll abandon them, too.

If she's still in labor even now (7pm), take her to the vet. The kittens may have died and stuck in the birth canal, and momma cat can die without them removed (it's not a pleasant sight).

  10. you should keep her away from everyone and make sure its quite where she is.
