Our dog has recently chewed through our walls and wooden baseboards. How can we fix this?

  2. Remove the baseboard with a prybar and hammer. Use a razor knife and cut an even straight, square line around the area of the sheetrock that your pet has damaged. If you are cutting an area near an electrical outlet, be sure not to cut too deep, may hit an electrical line. Good advise would be to isolate the electrical circuit in the area.

    Once you have removed the sheetrock, apply a patch using another piece of sheetrock, making sure that you have the right thickness. Apply sheetrock tape and mud to seal the area. Allow to dry and sand. The rest is up to you on matching the wall texture and simply replacing the baseboard. May require the use of a miter saw to ensure that proper angles are made to match the remaining baseboard.
