Our driveway runs between the neihbors and our house.How far away do we have to be?

By this I mean that we would like to build a shed in between the two house's in our driveway but I'm not clear on how far I have to be away from my neighbors house. Is a foot spacing enough or what??? Help please I need to build this weekend and I don't want to have to tare down later if I can help it.

Every municipality is different, and what you are inquiring about is the "set back" requirement from your property line.  Call Planning & Zoning at your local building department and ask them what building restrictions apply to your local regarding setbacks. . . as a rule they run 3-6 feet, but you have to check or you may well have to do it again if your wrong.

The best way is to make a copy of the survey you'll have within your mortgage portfolio and draw on it the proposed location of the shed and submit it for a permit.  This way you'll be on the up and up with the city/county, and this will also qualify for insurance particulars related to your home if there's future damages or losses.
