  1. i think our economy is going down down down. we need to stuff comsuming to start with. its an endless cylce make **** cheap. people buy the cheap **** and the cheasp **** breaks two months later. you go to work continuesously to pay off the cheap ****

    we need. to:

    go green

    use less resources

    learn to save

    pollute less

    share

    car pool

    use less materials

  2. It's not the total solution but it would by us time until we could get the technology to become more oil independent.

  3. I think you have got the totally wrong type of thinking. The whole economy problem is that the Republicans would rather watch the oil companies get richer by giving them tax breaks instead of taxing them. So, no the way to fix it is to tax the Oil Companies and any huge company that makes billions of dollars there should be no tax breaks.

  4. I've heard so many 'experts' try to explain why oil is priced like it is now it makes my head swim. Seem like everybody got a excuse as to why things went to h**l so fast. Iran, a big oil producer, is suppose to have 15 super tankers loaded with oil just sitting there because refiners can't afford to buy oil at 147.00 a barrel and then sell their gas a 4.00 a gallon. They don't make any money and therefore are not buying the oil. I know there is no shortage of oil. I also think the price was inflated by speculators and  alot of people are getting rich fast because of this. Mexico regulates is gas/oil industry, the US should too. Why...because gas in Mexico RIGHT NOW is HALF the cost here in the US.

  5. I disagree.  We could always take over Canada.

  6. It would make little difference as it would only represent a small percentage of oil being pumped today.  Oil is a free market commodity and the price rises with demand.  There is no oil shortage yet.

  7. Drilling is not going to solve the whole issue, and drilling now will bring results in a few years down the line..  This all takes time to set up and make it happen..

It is not just our economy, but the whole world economy that is in trouble..

The rest of the world is developing and they also want what we have, TV, A/C, microwave, washing machine, cars, homes, and all the services that go with it..  It takes energy and China has a big energy need.   There is only so much oil being pumped and they sell to the highest bidder..

  8. The economy is not actually bad. Gasoline has risen no further than any other commodity. This is due to normal inflation. The chicken little people have taken over the country.

  9. I think us drilling will not do squat.  Off shore drilling is an expenses ends that will never justify the means (pollution, injuries, and possible damage that it will be done to the environment in the long run.)  Honestly if we want the oil issue to go away we are going to have to pull ourselves together and force car manufactures to give us better vehicles, or force public transportation to give us better transportation services. The reason why I think this way is these politicians and companies that are running us are only thinking about the money and not the people. (we already have some off shore drilling sites just like other countries and they are still charging 130 145 a barrel for crude: The OPEC can produce 1 billion to a trillion gallons and it will not change the price in the end cause it is set in bargaining stone that no matter where the oil comes from not one of them is going to accept less for it than what OPEC is getting for it; note veggie oils use to be cheap and plenty before it was know they could be a fuel alternative.) Our economy can not be saved unless we the people tell these Politicians and corporations/companies we ain't going to take it.

  10. I agree.  We have the technology to keep the environment clean while drilling.

It won't be a short term answer, but at least if we get started now in several years we  will reap the benefits.  So it is the only answer.

People say it won't help us now!  But if we had started 10 years ago we would not be in this situation where the gas prices are so high. We have to start some time.

It is like having a baby.  When you decide you want one it takes a minimum of 9 months. But at least in the end your baby is born.

    Get my drift?
