“Our goal was to create 1 through 12 pitching depth," says Los Angeles Angels GM Jerry Dipoto
Some say these days are quite tough for the Los Angeles Angels who now making considerable amount of efforts for bringing a new change in the franchise. The potential change that the Angels’ might not assume earlier is giving them some troubles lately.
As the offseason hit, the Angels started to shuffle their starting rotation which later turned out to be more lethal as the South Los Angeles baseball franchise lost its some of the very good pitchers in trade deals.
On the other hand, some might have been traded to other Major League Baseball teams but some who were free agents, also considered signing with other teams which created somewhat a vacuum in the franchise.
However, now news is coming that the Angels have started rebuilding their team by introducing new starters and relief pitchers. On Wednesday, in a press conference, in which the Angels’ top executives were also present, the Los Angeles side introduced four
new pitchers Joe Blanton along with Tommy Hanson, Sean Burnett and Ryan Madson.
The Los Angeles general manager Jerry Dipoto was also present during the introduction of these potential players who now have been given the responsibility to take the Angels to another level.
“Our goal was to create 1 through 12 pitching depth, I don't feel like anything else is imminent and anything else is required," GM Dipoto said.
Later Dipoto said of his new pitcher Joe Blanton, “What Joe represents to us is stability and a winning player. We need it, We'll let time tell how impactful he can be on this club. Joe fit our needs and did it in a way we wanted to create depth."
Team manager Mike Scioscia was also present when the Angels introduce their new pitchers. He was also happy and said with excitement, "Our rotation has an element of experience that is going to be important, These are two great guys to work off of. These
guys are all going to pitch to a certain point in the game.”
Experts believe that despite the Angels’ have lost some good pitchers in this offseason but now they should focus on the coming future and retain these players in order to get good results.
