anybody else feel that our grandparents' generation is the best group of people alive today? I love talking to senior citizens , esp those who identify strongly w. their heritage, because their outlook on life is I belive much purer...more simpler sometimes, but better. They have more of a sense of humor, they know how to tell stories better than our generation, they have a quality I can't quite put my finger on that is different from our generation- anyone else agree and know what i"m talking about?

  1. i understand your point and agree, but keep in mind that not everyone ages into happy humorous citizens who love to share stories about when they were our age.some people are rude and unsocial, and like to remain that way for as long as they can.so basically it isn't always the best generation for everyone.also, in 50 years grandparents might not be as interesting as they used to be, if all of today's youth end up with nothing to tell their grandchildren except stories about their television and game consoles.

  2. I agree. Maybe it's because they went thru the Depression, or maybe it was because more families went to church together, and had meals around the table together, but yes I agree. They worked so hard for what little they had but were happy. They have a firm belief in the USA, and all she stands for.

  3. What generation would that be?

My grandfather was born in 1882, so his generation would have been the early to mid 1900's.

  4. My grandad was born in '20 so, I guess, yes---one of the best but not THE best.

  5. YOU ARE RIGHT  They didn't need legal binding documents, a handshake was as good as gold. That does not exist today, in the dog eat dog world, where lies and backstabbing are the norm!!

  6. Every generation looks good when you look back. But they all have there problems. They had to get good at story telling because they didn't grow up with television.

  7. I totally agree! My grandpa who died last year was so care free, had a great sense of humor, was great to talk to, and had a great outlook on life.  Also my other grandparents also have a great sense of humor, and not just my grandparents but i agree all grandparents know what the important things in life are and how to live their life to the fullest.

  8. I agree!  The elderly are so wise!

  9. Agree!!! Everything was just so much more reality instead of computers and tv's and text messages.  Like my grandparents don't even use an air conditioner....and heaven forbid you ask them to get one! I love listening to their stories about packing water and stripping tobacco or playing in the creek.  What happened to the world?

  10. OMgosh.........

You have made one of the best statements ever!

I love the elderly too. They are so cute and sweet.

I always go out of my way to help or smile at them.

    Keep it up.

    :)
