Our hamster escaped 2 days ago we have looked all over the house and left food out over night?

The food has not been taken. we found a small hole behind the toilet and think the pipes might lead to the foundations of the house!! any ideas how to track her or lure her back!!

When i had a hamster I was always loosing it what i did was sit in the room where the cage is and listen for noises that might give a Clue for its where about.

Most of the time i found it asleep next to the Tin i kept its food in,  Either it recognised it as where the food came from or it could smell it.

The Bucket trick never worked not for my hamster anyway.

Follow the 5 steps below and you will find him/her:

1) Get something to use as a ladder ( old fire grates work well)

2) Get a tall bucket or toy box.

3) Attach the ladder to the toy box or bucket.

4) Put some of his/her favourite treats inside and also at bottom of ladder.

5) Leave room and just checking every hour.

She/he will soon be back in your loving arms once again.

Hi,

If your hamster is still in your house, place the hamster cage near to where you think it is hidding. Your hamster will smell her scent and 9.10 times return to her/his cage.I use this method all the time.

One of my hamsters escaped during the night (stupid cage it was in) searched everywhere. One day the hot water tap wouldnt work for the bathroom sink. Dad investigated and found my poor hamster in the pipe dead :(

Well I have been in the same situation on many occassions, mainly as my little sister left their cages open, our hamster went missing for almost a month, just let the hamster go for its adventure she will be back when she is hungry or bored, just like mine, you'll be watching telly one night and see a small shaddow move across the floor and that will be her coming back.

i suggest you start looking all over your neighbour hood and ask your neighbours as well because a small animal like that can go almost anywhere.  Leave its cage open because their still is a chance that the hamster is still in your house and leave out some thing that your pet gets rarely that it likes so it may reveal its hiding spot!!! It is important that you find your hamster soon or it might get lost and never come home or worse:( Keep looking and don't loose hope!!!!!
