  1. Tile. specifics.  floor, ceiling acoustics tile etc...  Deep dark reds will go with light cream to white tones.  Trim and moulding, or wallpaper bordering may help.  Books will give great tips on wall treatment techniques.

  2. yes, no

amazing is in the eye of the beholder..

you could go to the paint store and find a set of colors that is designed to go togeteher with one of the colors being your tile color.

  3. I tile and paint every day of my life, and have to tell you, that sounds like a great floor color.

As suggested, light earth tones will work. I'd probably do a Cream color for the walls. In fact I do it on every wall, where the tile exists, almost like an Eggnog color. Camel would work, as well. I do a lot of Faux finish work, sponging, etc., and I might do A Camel over creme, subtly. If you did the camel in a large nap roller, you could almost create a look of suede. I might shy away from white as being too stark a difference, but certainly White comes in so many variations. I'd also shy away from any Gloss paints. My personal preference is SATIN, always.

Since we do not know the colors of any furnishings, it's a bit difficult to assume accents, but a dark maroon, would work well with subtle, but dark greens, such as teal, perhaps as pillows, plants, etc. We also don't know if the design is contemporary, or vintage, classical, etc.

Of course you can, and probably should TEST, any/all suggestions or choices, in small temp. areas, even doing two color walls separated by chair rail, or wainscot.

I'd use contrast rather than strict blending or coordination, unless you happen upon accents that compliment the tile color. I would not however go so far in contrast to distract from the tile color, IE: Burnt Orange. Certainly a color wheel can help, at a bargain price, and while in the store pull various chip samples to take home, tape around, and live with for a day or two.

    Just my two "sense"

  4. you can do faux sponge painting on the walls with a gold/tan combo. With the dark tiles, it will look very elegant.

  5. Use an antique or eggshell white.

the combination may  be pleasing to your eyes.
