  1. the cloudy stuff could be dead stuff you should vacuum the pool with the filter in bypass so it gets rid of the stuff then add water back into the pool.test the chlorine strength before going in

  2. this is what you do for a cloudy pool go to walmart or home depot not a pool store as pool store will charge you too much but walmart or home depot and get some water clairifier pour in all the way around the pool save some to pour in skimmer next to filter let pool run for 24 hours and check it again if you have any more problems e mail me at jldailey2000@yahoo.com i own a pool company eleven years experince after you shock wait one hour for every pound of shock four pounds=four hour wait time

  3. We just went through the same thing! The pool dr told us that cloudy is good especially if it was getting a bit green before. The cloudy should clear up in a few days if you keep the filter going. Dont swim in it for at least 24 hours after adding shock. You can use a dipstick tester to test the strength of the chlorine before you go in. I think the cloudy is the chemicals doing their thing and it clumps the bad stuff creating the cloudy water but the filter should clear it. Good luck
