Our job to keep Bairstow’s confidence up, says Jonathan Trott – Cricket News Update
England’s top order batsman, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/IJL-Trott-c1576, is the latest to step forward in support of under-fire batsman Jonny Bairstow, saying that despite getting off to a shaky start in his Test career, the Yorkshireman has the potential to succeed in the long
run.
Speaking to the media reporters on Wednesday, Trott urged the teammates to support the struggling batsman and keep his confidence up.
"It's our job to keep his confidence up, keep him calm and reassure him,” said the 31-year-old Cape Province-born top order batsman during a media encounter on the eve of the third and final Test against West Indies. “I don't think he needs it, he's
a really confident guy but it's all we can do,” he added further.
Jonny Bairstow, the 22-year-old right-handed batsman, debuted in the Test format of the game last month with a match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 at the historic Lord’s venue. The Yorkshire cricketer however, failed to deliver what he was expected to in the
three innings he has played so far, compiling only 20 runs. He was rather seen struggling against Kemar Roach’s short-pitched deliveries.
Trott agreed that every player in the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 team is expected to do really well in all of his innings however, he said that assessing someone based on only two knocks is not fair.

"I've watched Jonny in the nets and been very impressed,” said the right-handed batsman. "He’s got all tools to succeed, and you also need a few things to go your way. He’s only had two knocks, so we all have to be realistic about the whole thing,”
he added further.
The http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Northamptonshire-c824 last week.
It is yet to be seen if Bairstow gets selectors’ nod for the Edgbaston Test against Windies, while Trott is hopeful the Yorkshireman will do really well, if given an opportunity.
"I'm sure he'll do really well against Windies in Birmingham this week. We'll reassure him his natural game will be good enough, he doesn't have to change anything," Trott concluded.
