  1. Hamsters do that naturally; it is an 'appetitive' behavior. Rather than finding and eating food when hungry, hamsters instinctively find and hoard it.

  2. Mine does the exact thing! They're supposed to. It's not like they're protecting their food, they're just saving it for later!

  3. maybe u should place a quarter bowl filled twice a day to lower its food habbits!!

  4. That is what hamster do they hoard food there is nothing to worry about

  5. it's normal

  6. He he, don't squeeze the food out of Hamsters pouches, you can damage them....

anyways, it is normal for Hamsters to do this, just like squirrels, so they know where the food is in case of a supply shortage, like winter and all that.  They also don't have to go far from their bed to get the food, so less likely to be eaten by a predator.

  7. hoarding is a completely normal hamster behavior just make sure you remove any rotten fruits or veggies from it everyday

  8. Hamsters always hoard food its a natural thing for them to do don't worry. good luck hope this helped

  9. it's something normal that they do. they put food in their pouches and carry them to a safe place and "spits" it out. then they may eat it later.

it might sound disgusting, but its what they do.

    hope this helps!!

  10. This is normal behavior for a hamster.  They will store their food in another place in their cage so they can have it for later.   I think that goes back to when they lived in the wild.  They would find and store food for later because food could be scarce at times.

**I wouldn't leave old food in the cage when you change it.  It can grow mold on it especially if the hamster urinated on it.  If you discover that your hamster has way too much food stashed away cut back on how much you feed him.

  11. Its what they do, it's a rodent thing.  No worries.

Please don't squeeze the food out of his mouth, it may be funny but totally mean and an awful thing to do, shame on peole who treat their pets like that.

  12. Hammys have food pouches allthe way to their shoulder.they sometimes put in in what are called food stroes. They grab food and hide it basically, they do it in case its time for hibernating,When you clean your hamster out, look for food stores,be sure to leave some in there though otherwise the hammy will think another hamster has raided the cage!

  13. Seems like he is getting ready to pack up and try to leave.

If he is hording food in his mouth just squeeze the food out.

    Lol its hilarious.
