Our pet rat escaped a week and a half ago?

We have looked everywhere, and I know that he is in my daughters room because I see evidence of him chewing things up. Mostly plastic bags. He is very friendly, but just can't seem to find him. Any ideas on how to capture him.

Put his cage on the floor -somewhere in a corner of the bedroom with enough water and food (something nice) - he will eventually get back into his cage, I think.  It will be a situation where you have to be vigilant and  if you or your daughters hear him, get up and close the cage door - even if it is in the middle of the night.  Good luck

when i lost my hamster in my room i carefully moved everything oput of my room and then he didn't have much places to hide and then i went next to him and picked him up.

get a bucked and put loads of food and things he loves to eat so lota of smell will come out and put a ladder up to the bucket he will smell it and will crawl up the ladder and will fall in the bucket and wont beable to get out the bucket . make sure the sides of the bucket are fairly tall so it wont be able to jump out. Dont fill the food to far up either or it willbeable to jump out . if that doesnt work leave a trail of food all the way up the ladder and up the ladder so it will see the food in the bucket and jump in.

I'd agree with the humane rat trap. One of my rats escaped before it was tame and got into a hole that I couldn't get to.

After trying allsorts of other things a friend lent me a trap. Load it up with your rat's fav food (the smellier the better really) and wait.

It only took a couple of hours for my little squeeky to be safely back with her sisters!

Find a large, no-kill trap and put some of his food in it. And put some water out too. Time is of the essence.

If u get another 1 or find it make sure u put a rock over the lid because they can lift it up. If u don't have a lid that is rodent or snake lid make sure u buy 1. Best of luck finding it.
