Our phone from Time Warner Cable is acting werid..?

Our phone is acting weird, and we can't call the phone company because it won't connect and we can't accept incoming calls, despite the fact that the caller ID still shows up on the TV. I've checked the jacks and reset everything, we even bought a new phone looking for what was the matter. My parents paid the bill on time in full, and all of our other services are working fine..

Something that could have affected it was the lights went out and came back on..but I mean..that never affected it before..

does anyone know what we can do to fix this problem ourselves and/or how we can get a hold of the company before Christmas. We really have calls we need to place..so this is urgent. We do not have cell phones..so..this is our only way to get in touch with people, besides the internet.

  1. The modem should be unpugged totally from the cable or the power for like 2 minutes. After that time you can plug it in and try again. This should give the office enough time to reset your modems ip.


  2. try to un plug it your self and then plug it back in, also un plug the cable wire and reconnect it, if it has a battery back up take that out also.  did it rain if so the connection outside might have gotten wet some how.   if it has a battery back up take that out also
