It is vented. If we sit a fan at the access door, will it dry out on its own?

  1. Yes if it sets long enough.

  2. Your chances are good that it will dry out as long as is well-ventilated. Be sure to keep an eye on it though, to ensure that it dries out completely. Do everything you can to keep the air moving in there until it does.

  3. dehumidifyer and the fan running would work very well.  running only the fan my be time consuming and mold could and prob would appear.

  4. Yes it will dry out.

Using the fan will help it dry out quicker because of the increased air flow in the crawl space.

  5. You might want to speed the process by getting in there with a sponge and bucket.  You want to dry it out as fast as possible, before little nasties decide to move in, making your house into a toxic mold haven.  Now, I for one believe that mold fears are overblown, but a wet crawl space is the ideal environment to get problems started.
