The menu has to be something that is not messy due to girls in dresses. I would like for it to be something nice but not fancy!

6 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves

    2 cups teriyaki sauce, divided

    6 pineapple rings

    1/2 cup butter, melted

    3/4 cup packed brown sugar

    3/4 cup soy sauce

    3/4 cup unsweetened pineapple juice

    6 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

    DIRECTIONS

Place the chicken breast halves in a dish with the 1 1/2 cups of teriyaki sauce. Cover and refrigerate 8 hours or overnight.

Preheat a grill for high heat.

Lightly oil the grill grate. Place chicken b*****s on grill, and discard marinade. Cook for 8 minutes per side, or until juices run clear. Brush with the remaining teriyaki sauce during the last 5 minutes. When almost done, place one pineapple ring on top of each breast, and brush with melted butter.

In a small saucepan over medium heat, mix the brown sugar, soy sauce, pineapple juice, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook, stirring occasionally, until sugar is dissolved. Serve with chicken for dipping!

    hawaiian fried wontons

1 (12 ounce) container fully cooked luncheon meat (e.g. Spam), chopped

1 (8 ounce) can water chestnuts, drained and chopped

    3 tablespoons green onions, chopped

    3 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

3 hard-cooked eggs, peeled and chopped

    1/2 teaspoon pepper

    1 1/2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 (14 ounce) package square wonton wrappers

1 quart vegetable oil for frying

    DIRECTIONS

In a medium bowl, mix together the lunchmeat, water chestnuts, green onions, parsley, hard-cooked eggs, pepper, and oyster sauce. Set aside.

On a clean flat surface, such as a cutting board, lay out 4 to 6 wonton skins at a time. Place a tablespoon of the meat mixture into the center of each one. Keep a small bowl of water next to the work area to dip fingers in. Use wet fingers to moisten the corners of each wrapper. Quickly pinch all 4 corners together to seal in the filling. If it doesn't hold, use more water. Keep filled wontons covered with plastic wrap to prevent drying while the others are made.

Heat one inch of oil in a deep heavy skillet over medium-high heat, or heat recommended amount of oil in a deep-fryer to 365 degrees F (185 degrees C). Fry wontons for a few minutes on each side, or until golden. Remove to paper towels to absorb excess grease. Enjoy the grinds

non alchoholic beverages. and maybe some deserts?

  5. Roast Pig and Pineapple. Aloooooooooha!

  6. SKEWERS! {sp?}

do kabobs of chicken and pinapple marinated in pinapple teriyaki grilled. you are not meant to eat these off the skewers, you take them off with the forks!

desert? pound cake and pinapple sorbet!

  7. I had a "fakey luau" last year and while it was all vegetarian, and not all hawaiian, it had a bunch of yummy tropical things. I made roasted plantains and sweet potatoes, "shells in the sand" pasta salad with mini shell noodles mixed with couscous to look like shells in sand, Hawaiian pizza, fruit skewers, coconut cupcakes, pineapple upside down cake, mango spring rolls, coconut rice,  BBQ tofu.. and probably other things that I'm forgetting...

  9. There are recipes on the internet for volcano cakes that will flow with lava.  Also for the punch bowl you can put dried ice in it for that smokey effect.
