  1. you only have to be over 8

  2. As long as he dosen't have to switch trains.

  3. yes

if you have concerns then stick him on the train and ask someone old dear sitting neraby to keep an eye on him, they love that sort of responsibility.

  4. Yeah, when i was 14 i went to london from a place about 6 hours away. I was with a friend though.

  5. As long as you can trust him, he can go. I don't think there is an age boundary or anything.

  6. isn't it a sad indictment of our time that a question like this needs to be asked. its a good question and the answer depends on the boys maturity to some extent. Does he feel confident travelling alone? Has he done smaller trips alone to build his confidence?

i wonder what the replies would have been if it was a daughter on her own? make sure he has a mobile with him.

  7. Yes. He might want to go with a friend though, just so he doesn't have to go all alone x x

  8. I wouldn't have thought so , but check with your nearest train station its better to be safe than sorry.

  9. Yes, its up to you.  When i was 14, i traveled from Cardiff to Manchester on my own and i was fine.
