  1. Unless you have had your well water checked, I wouldn't drink it even if it is clear. There could be all kinds of minerals, and chemicals in the water that would make it unsafe to drink. It should be OK to use for a secondary water supply (yard watering, etc.) My parents have a well, and a town water supply. My Dad has the water lines divided into two systems. The town supply is for drinking (sinks, and showers, ice maker). The well is for everything else (stools, washing machine, garden hose etc.) If the well ever goes dry, all he has to do is, open a valve, and use ALL town water.To answer your question. The water will clear after it has had time to settle the dirt. Is it harmful? Have it checked!


  2. Usually the water from a storm or recent rain seeps down through the ground and that acts as a filter,  so yes,  it will clear up.

  3. you should get the water checked on a regular basis anyway..
