Our window air conditioner is starting to freeze up, is there anything I can do?

  1. You have the thermostat set too low forcing the unit to work too hard.

  3. Sometimes when it is real humid, that happens.  Clean your filter and "defrost" the unit by shutting it off for awhile.

  4. What you need to do is take the unit out of the cabinet, if you have an air compressor blow the rear coils really good replace the inside filter and keep an eye on it,when it gets dirty clean it, hopefully this will work for you it sure did for me.

  5. put the unit on "fan" only and let it run for a couple of hours.  Keep checking and when the frost is gone, go back to regular use.
