Question:

Out Of Country Speeding Tickets

I was wondering what happens if you are from canada on a road trip to florida, and you get a speeding tiket or two. Is there any relationship between canada and the states when it comes to unpaid fines? Do you just take the ticket and never worry about it again?

  1. let it go

i seriously doubt they will give it a second thought

poeple in the states get speeding tickets and dont pay them

unless they are pulled over again

or the police take a day to catch up on all of them and start knocking on doors

if you plan on traveling again, you might want to think about paying it.

if you get caugth speeding in the same state

then you will pay for the new ticket, old ticket, the court fees & late fees

and might even go to jail a night or two for faliure to appear or a bench warrent

the best way to get out of paying a ticket is

    never admit you were speeding

thats why they ask "do you know why i pulled you over"

if you admit it, the officer will testify to it in court

    request the issuing offices cetification

quite often, they have not renewed thier training or licesnces

especially if they used a radar gun

    maybe you will luck out

  2. heck I have unpaid tickets from 3 different states and those were from 5-6 years ago. You think they are really going to waste their time, money and resources to cross the border for a simple speeding ticket? The money they will save not coming after you far outweighs the actual fines they would get from you, so it isn't worth it.
