Out door lighting?

I bought a wall lamp + pir but after the second lamp i tried, i still cant get it to work, so i put the old one back and that works fine, any ideas whats wrong, also what does pir stand for.

  1. i would say faulty as when you put power to the light it should come on for abt 2 mins to set itself then after it goes out you do the walk test, ie set time the light is on and the range of sensor. as long as you wired it up right. and they do come on in the daytime as there are 2 settings 1 for how light or dark you want it to operate and the other for how long it stays on


  2. PIR is a passive infrared sensor. The lamp probably works, but won't come on unless something moves in front of the sensor. It probably won't work at all during the day.

  3. Some sensor lights will not work if you use compact fluresent light globes.Try using incandescent globes. Also, it might be in night mode so you won't be able to tell if it works in the day.
